E30 325i manual – well known to ML
Very few cars from the 80s and early 90s have aged as gracefully as the E30 cabriolets. Stylish, elegant, and an undeniable symbol of success back in the day, they have become a cult classic, leaving the originally more expensive Mercedes SL of the same period looking old and tired. The E30 was arguably BMWs masterpiece, from a time of over-engineering and obsessive quality control. The E30 configuration lends itself incredibly well to the convertible configuration, having a long, elegant, flat bodyline, perfect for roof removal.
These cars are one of the most cost effective and easy to run modern classics, making the combination of looks, cred, reliability and cost an unbeatable classic package.
This beautiful 325i convertible is a remarkable example – and most importantly a rare manual car. Purchased from Munich Legends back in 2022 by movie star Ellie Bamber – now starring in the new Kate Moss biopic – the car has resided in private indoor parking and rarely used, covering less than 1500 miles since that time. Work commitments and space now means that Ellie is unable to keep her favourite machine, and has asked us to find the right home for this cherished E30. With the sought-after manual box, striking good looks, rare Motorsport-striped seats and in superb condition, the 325i cabriolet has still only covered 51,400 miles, with only 3 owners. We love this car – it is without doubt one of the best E30 325i convertibles we know – and will no doubt become more and more collectable, as the dwindling numbers of ownable E30 drop tops become harder and harder to find. The manuals are super rare.
Having been prepped by us only 1500 miles ago, you won’t be surprised to hear that our technical team’s inspection came out very well. With a short program of works to keep the car in absolutely A1 condition, this E30 325i will be delivered to its new owner ready for many years of enjoyable motoring, mechanically and physically excellent. Parts availability is still very good, and these cars are robust and reliable – to the degree that use as a daily driver is still very much realistic (Dan has one and uses it daily, along with a good few customers). Beautiful to look at, easy to own and run, very cost effective to repair and maintain, the E30 convertibles are a superb classic BMW to own, and looking better with every passing year.
