Originally produced in April of 1988 by BMW, the M3 was based on an original 220bhp non-catalytic car (Evolution II) which has since benefited from a 40bhp gain from one of the best tuners in Europe. In January 1992 this M3 went to Birds UK for the 2.5 litre, 260bhp Hartge engine conversion, including Hartge up-rated intake and exhaust cam shafts, 2.5 crank shaft, a new set of pistons, all associated engine machining and Hartge engine management system. At the same time it also had the Hartge Sports Exhaust system, Hartge 16” wheels and air conditioning retrofit. This is a particularly subtle conversion, with only the wheels and rear badge giving away the car’s adopted heritage.
Hartge has been a BMW-recognised tuner for many years, both in Germany and in the UK, and their build quality is as highly regarded as other BMW tuners such as Alpina and Schnitzer.
Since this time we have a fully-documented service history for all the car’s maintenance and servicing, which is fully comprehensive and covers both the main dealer work and that carried out here at Munich Legends over the years. This history is extremely well-presented in date order from start to finish, which is very rare for any E30 M3.
Very well known to Munich Legends and sold by us twice in previous years, this M3 is now back and has had another full inspection in our workshops since arriving. When sold it will come fully prepped to the usual high standard with service and MOT.
