The E46 M3 is arguably the most accomplished all-round M car ever made. Featuring the last of the straight six engines that established BMW’s reputation not just for reliability, but also for power that rewrote the rule book – squeezing a huge 343bhp from a 3.2litre engine and thus smashing the 100bhp per 1000cc barrier.
But the E46 M3 was always a pretty car, too, and one that has aged very well indeed. The convertible, surely, is the prettiest of the range, with a platform that looks just perfect. This particular car is one of the very best colour combinations, with shimmering silver grey metallic coachwork contrasting with that of-the-era deep red leather interior that just begs to be seen on a sunny day with the roof down. As a later car, this M3 is obviously the face-lifted model, and is known to Munich Legends very well, having belonged to a local customer for many years. This discerning gentleman has cherished his weekend car dearly, never exposing it to wet roads, always using high-octane fuel, and ensuring his pride and joy stays looking lovely. The service history and provenance of the car is impeccable.
Our workshop team have carried out a full and rigorous inspection of the car and are very impressed. The few odd items needing attention will be dealt with prior to the new owner taking possession, but we’re pleased to report that this low mileage, well kept E46 M3 drop top is one of the best we’ve seen, and drives every bit as good as it looks.
